ALL FOR EVERYONE HATS

I spotted these at the General Store last winter and totally forgot to post them. Thankfully, I was reminded of these hand-made in the USA hats by a coworker yesterday. Get one here.

GENTLEMAN ARTHUR TIES

T>N>A>C is really digging the rough hewn sensibilities of Gentleman Arthur’s linen ties. Their collection skirts the line of the ETSY DIY aesthetic. Somehow they defy that expectation quite wonderfully by attaching the brand to a Southern Gothic vibe. Check em out here.

RECENTLY READ AT DESIGNER OBSERVER

Design Observer recently called to our attention an amazing collection of Vietnam era Zippos lighters (still made in the USA) up  for auction. T>N>A>C doesn’t condone smoking, but when you’re in the shit we say “smoke em if yah got em.” Check out the write up here.

KALA EYEWEAR

I’ve been meaning to write up Kala Eyewear for a long time. My wife discovered them while shopping for new specs a few years back and fell in love. When we found out they were manufactured in her hometown of Hayward, CA, well, that was just the icing on the sweet, sweet optical cake. Check […]

EBBETS FIELD FLANNEL CAPS

There’s not a better way to celebrate the coming Fall Classic than with a new American-made Ebbets Field Flannel Cap. Their curated collection may have excluded your favorite team, but maybe its time to reconsider allegiances and go with a new loyalty, best logo wins. It’s really hard to identify my favorites, but here are a […]

MAKR CARRY GOODS

A lot of smaller design shops in the US are working with leather, but for me what really sets Makr apart is their leatherwork and innovative approach to metal design. Here’s some of the other highlights. Get them here.

DODOCASE FOR IPAD2, IPAD AND KINDLE

It’s an exciting time in the Bay Area. The new American Industrial Revolution is in full swing and DODOcase makes an excellent case study for what it looks like, from novel idea to high-quality, nimble manufacturing to smart, clean design presence. Check them out here.

AMERICAN OPTICAL PILOT SUNGLASSES

As far as I can tell Chuck Yeager rarely wore sunglasses. Probably because he was one of those rare breeds, who could challenge the sun to a staring contest and win. For the mortals amongst us, pick up a pair of American Optical Pilots. It’s the closest most of us will ever get to flying […]

BARRETT ALLEY DOM GLASSES HOLDER

I really like where Barrett Alley’s headspace is at, well made, handcrafted and thoughtful. T>N>A>C would love to get our hands on one of B.A.’s great looking russet dyed wallets, but at over $300, B.A. might have trouble competing with less expensive, but similarly crafted fare from the likes of Billy Kirk and Tanner Goods. […]

PIERREPONT HICKS BOW TIE

I love a good bow-tie. And Pierrepont Hicks has been pushing the dialogue on the revered form with their beautifully constructed and styled ties. WARREN ST. JOHN NYT ON THE BOW-TIE WEARER “To its devotees the bow tie suggests iconoclasm of an Old World sort, a fusty adherence to a contrarian point of view. The bow […]
